Five years after Ukraine's Orange Revolution, its next presidential election is between two candidates: the former prime minister Viktor Yanukovych (leading the polls ) and the current prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko. The election comes while Ukraine fights a financial crisis. The Ukrainians, filled with resentment, saw their economy shrink by 15% last year. The Kiev government appealed to The International Monetary Fund for emergency aid, taking more than £10bn in loans, while the The IMF froze delivery of some tranches due to lack of internal reforms. Another candidate, President Viktor Yushchenko, the hero of the Orange Revolution, is sixth in the vote with an expected 3.8% , while Tymoshenko now calls the Orange Revolution "a revolution of lost opportunities".
